Remington 700 -serial number question.

I bought a rem 700 270 adl and the bolt knob is slick -no machine checkering.
Is there a way to identify it's year of manufacture ?

Call Remington at 1 800 243 9700 And tell them you need to know what year your rifle is made .
.
Every remington I get I cann them an give them the ser number an they can the year .
