I recently purchased a PSS from an owner that had the barrel shortened to 18". It was recrowned and treated with a durocoat parkerized finish.
I have since rebarreled the PSS, but did shoot it with the short barrel and it shot very well with my hand weighed varmint loads. (Group in photo was only 65 yards but was 5 shots, the long range had a match that day)
I was keeping it for an LTR type project but wound up putting together a long action gun instead.
Uses stock Remington short action / barrel lug. The duracoat is dulled a bit where it joins the action from the barrel removal vice. I am unsure of round count, but the bolt shows very little wear.
$100 shipped in US. Offers entertained. Possible trade interest in 30 mm tube LR scope.
