Remington 1100 wood

Any suggestions on the best way to remove finish o a 1100 wood stock tried different strippers and nothing seems to cut thru it.I've been working carefully with a piece of glass which is very time consuming .

Methylene chloride (dichloromethane) it's what is in aircraft/ epoxy stripper.

I used a citrus based stripper, wrapped in cellophane for 24 hours. Then scraped with plastic cabinet shim. Worked well.

If all else fails, sandpaper!
