? rem 700 firing pin

had a new rem 700 7rem mag rechambered to 7STW action worked on . fixed a couple of thing he did that looked mickey . now im going to break in the barrel this weekend tryed a couple of rounds to see how they cycled notice when the rounds ejected the firing pin tag the primer on the rounds. now looking at it lucky it didnt go off. ? can i adjust the trigger so it dont touch the primer or do i need to grind down the pin .

Looks like the trigger was adjusted too low and when you closed the bolt it released the firing pin (either too little sear engagement, too light on the spring tension, or a combination of both). It didn't strike it hard enough to go off but hard enough to dent the primer. Definitely not a safe situation. Check it without ammo and see if the firing pin remains cocked when you close the bolt normal and then try it with slamming the bolt closed. If the firing pin doesn't stay cocked either way the trigger is adjusted wrong.
