I just picked up this rifle on a trade deal.
Would like a idea on value and if it would be a good donor action for a 300norma biuld??
Its chambered in 30-06
Or would i be better off selling and buying a titanium action and starting from scratch??

For a 300 norma you might want to look at a custom action. Pierce Ti would be a good choice, and I know there are a few others that make titanium actions. The 700 ti would be a great action to start with if you wanted to build a 6.5x284! I have seen the Ti's go for anywhere between 700-1200 dollars. If its in good shape I would try to sell it for 1100 and see if you get any takers and that should pretty much cover your custom action. Good luck with the build

Thanks . One gun smith told me this one will not handle the pressure of a 300norma.
The other gun smith thinks the first gun smith is crazy. He said he can oppen the bolt face .
I don't know who to belive so i asked a question to get more answers.

Lol $700 ti? You let me know when you see them for $700 because I will buy them all. Rem 700 ti in the short action .473 bolt face are the most sought after but the long action 30-06 would still bring $1200-$1500 depending on condition. A 300 Norma that light is going to kick way hard. I will agree it would make a great base for a 6.5-284 though.

The cheapest one on gun broker is 1950$
So im either going to sell this like it is or make it a 6.5x284

I'd have that Ti action blueprinted by a gunsmith, and re-barrel it to 6.5-284 Norma, or .280 AI. Maybe slap a Jewell trigger in it, while the smith has it.

Thats what im thinking . If it dont sell quick
The 300norma can wait tell the next biuld.
Im not a 7mm fan
So its got to be 6.5 or 30cal.

We've all got our favorites... I'm a huge 7mm fan.

I'm not really a .30 cal fan (outside of the .308 Win & .300 Ackley), but somehow I ended up with 5 of them, all in different calibers... Sometimes you gotta expand your horizons. The .280 AI is one of the greatest sub-1000 yard deer hunting calibers ever invented (in my opinion). And that action would be perfect for building one.

But to each, his own.
