I shot my 6.5 Creedmoor again a few days ago but had to change brass because I was piercing the small rifle primers in Lapua brass with the large firing pin in my Remington action. I ordered a couple hundred Peterson 6.5 Creedmoor brass with large rifle primers. The Petersons brass is heavy and gives up 1 grain of water capacity to Lapua and 3 grains to Hornady brass. I was only able to get 46grs in the cases without a drop tube but it turns out that where I started seeing faint ejector marks. I started at 44grs and got around 2725fps and ended at 46grs with 2875fps. This was with 147 ELD-M's at .030" off the rifling. The groups were impressive with the 46gr load shooting a .105" 3 shot group. I didn't measure the 45.5gr load but it shot 3 of 4 about .2". I screwed up the 3rd shot and shot a 4th that went with the other 3. The other upper target is a 5 shot group with 45grs. This is from a 25" #3 Brux barrel, Remington action, Jewell trigger, and McMillan edge fill Game Scout stock that I did all the gunsmithing on myself. It only has 27 rounds through the barrel now and it should pick up 40-50fps as it gets near 100 rounds through it like my 300wsm Brux did.
