Reloading data for 240gr SMK in a 30-378

I'm trying to develop a load for my Sako M995 30-378 using a 240 gr SMK. Please reply with any load data you have for this cartridge. Please include powder, primer, COL, and muzzle velocity. Thanks for the help.

So I posted bascially the same question about 2 weeks ago except I am using Wby Mark V and it doesnt sound like there is much out there on this load???

I started with 240 SMK, 104gr US869, CCI 250 primers, 3.718 Overall length, Wby brass, and have averaged 2825 ft/sec 10' off muzzle. Producing 1" groups or better at 100 yards. I was hoping for better velocity closer to 3000 ft/sec but I have not found the magic combo yet?

I will be looking into H1000 powder to see if any potential exisist there, if anyone out there has experience please chime in.

I have a 30-378, and I am doing this from memory (please excuse any errors). My rifle is an accumark with a 1-10 twist. I believe a faster twist is need to shot the 240's. Sierra 210-220 and the berger 210, I believe are the heaviest reccommended for the 1-10. If you have any experience with shooting the heavier bullets with a 1-10 twist barrel please let me know.

Have you tried Fed 215 primers ?

I am not sure, but the 215 was designed for the big Weatherbys. I would expect a lot more velocity than what you are getting.

Here is a load posted on the reloaders nest. I don't know how much I trust these numbers, muzzle velocity looks too high?? Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Looks pretty fast, I would expect 3100 max from that barrel length

Call Berger, Call Alliant, Call Hodgdon . In this day and age of cell phones with free long distance go to the source and get fast answers. I wouldn't trust that RL-25 load....3300 fps sounds way too hot.
