I'm attaching three photos of a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor that blew up. Shooter had on safety glasses, but his face looked like he had been shot with a 22 bird shot round. No serious damage that need medical attention though. He told us what went wrong and it was all his fault. He was loading with RL-17 and when the can was empty he grabbed another and finished loading, but the second can was RL-7 not 17! First photo is the barrel and casing, second photo bolt with the extractor lug blown apart, and the last is some of the shattered aluminum that makes it look like an AR. Barrel is very out of round and so is the action. When we disassembled the rifle is it squealed the whole way. Luckily I have a very heavy duty barrel vise and wrench or it wouldn't have come apart. I showed these photos to the Ruger people at the SHOT Show and they ask for the shooters name and address, as they want to send him a call tag so they could study the rifle. I do not know if he sent it to them or not. This is a tribute to Ruger for building a very strong action and bolt.
