Anyone try this out yet or run across someone who has tried Reloader 26 in a 7mm RM. I will be shooting 168VLDs. Even a starting point guess would be a good start.

Alliant has several bullet loads using RE26 but nothing for berger stuff.

Thanks for any help.

Jerry, I'd start at ~60gr and work up slowly to 66-67 grains.... That's just based on the other loading data they show for the 7rem; not from real world as I am not currently shooting a 7rem.

I was previously shooting 70.5 grains of rl25 with 162 sst/Amax's in Remington cases with a short throat at 3,050 fps. Haven't loaded it yet with rl25 since throat was lengthened to seat bullet at neck junction....switched to h1000. I would think if rl26 is slower than rl25 I would start higher than 60 grains for sure in Remington cases. Pressure showed early in norma brass.

Not to hijack a tread but qhat load are you running with h1000? My starting load was 66 grains.

I loaded 69.5 grains in Norma brass with 168 classics. Noticed a definite increase in recoil between the Berger and Hornady. I'm going to work the 162 with Remington brass and h1000 again and see what I get for accuracy and fps with the longer throat. I was shooting around 73 grains previously.

jweigel,
Send us a request for load data you need with the RE26 and our 7mm 168 VLD and we will see what we can come up with for you. [email protected]
