I remember someone on this forum stating that they had someone drill and rerifle a barrel to a larger caliber. Can someone point me in the right direction? I have a savage 22-250 barrel that I want punched to 6mm and chambered in the 6XC.

The cost of re-boring/re-rifling is not necessarily more than a custom barrel.

I had Dan Pederson of Classic Barrel Works. Classic Barrel Works take a 30" 7mm rem mag and make it into a 1 in 9 twist 338, setback, and rechamber for 338 RCM with longer throat, recrown was included. I cannot remember the exact cost but IIRC it was $260. He gets approx. $200 for re-rifling only.

I have some custom Lilja barrels that are fluted and extra long. This puts the cost around 1/2 of what I paid for those custom barrels.
