What I like about using range cards with DA: It doesn't matter what map elevation I am shooting from, I could be coastal bear hunting at 0ft map elevation or 8000ft mountain hunting. If the Kestrel says DA3825, I use the DA 4000 card and I plug 3825 into my computer regardless of my map elevation. Easy to use. ONE INPUT. The same when you zero your rifle, you use the DA reading off your Kestrel to input into the zero environmental conditions of your ballistics program.
Not correcting for the change in the current air density compared to the air density of your zero COULD cause enough error in elevation correction just by itself for you to miss a 10" target at long range.
So do you feel that using the DA system is accurate enough to hit deer sized animals cosistently enough to hunt with?
