If you had access to a 1000 yard range in south Georgia located about 50 miles due east of Columbus georgia; HOW MANY OF YOU WOULD WANT TO BE MEMBERS?

If you are looking at setting it up for BR also, suggest you talk to Tom Sarver at Ohio club. He is building his and can give you some does and don'ts. He is hosting the IBS Nationals this year labor day weekend. Might want to go there and see arrangement. Tom did some things right and but he built the firing line and cleaning area together and that makes it noisy.

Sloped roof instead of A is better for firing line to send noise forward instead of to the rear.

NC has several shooters that live in Atlanta area and travel.

Build it and they will come, but not a mad rush as you would hope. Lot of work left on few people for year or two. Many users will complain about this and that driving you crazy.

Need at least 25-30 concrete benches on covered firing line.

covered cleaning area about 20 yards behind the firing line. need to be able to handle 150 shooters under cleaning area with small sloped cleaning tables.

Ideally showers and RV parking/camping areas also.

IBS will probably to to agg type matches in future instead of relay/shootoff winners and you will need the 25 plus benches.

600 yard is up and coming so will need 600 yard berm also. More shooters will start here before moving up to 1k.

Ground hog 100, 300 and 500 yard shoots.

Two IBS clubs have mile targets now.

Needs to be facing North ideally.

Just some thoughts.

Daveosok, that would be great. Hawksridge is a long way from Douglas, GA. There are a few of us or possibly several of us that would be interested.

I was thinking 100 out to 600 berms at every 100 yards then a backstop at 1000 with pits.
I would most likely start out with tents as I dont have 100k laying around for 25 cement benches and a covered shooting and cleaning section that would have to come later and mostly be supported by members dues for the year.

I'm with warren that is one of the best ideas yet. Count me in. how can we help?

Did this ever happen? I live in NW Florida and will be up there to shoot lickety split if you have a long range in operation!
