When I entered this winter, I had a few potential gun projects I was considering. Well, money was the ultimate trump card so I opted for the least expensive one. I reamed a single shot 44mag barrel out to 445sm. Only cost me about $90 for the tool and new brass. I am happy with the results as I added more than 300fps to my 44mag loads with a little room to grow still.
Maybe this summer I will get more serious about the 338rum. This one needs a barrel, muzzle brake, brass, dies, and a scope - so its not even in the same ball park of cost.
