Pre 64 model 70 serials #1 and 2

Thank you for sharing. What a significant piece of history! Glad things like this still exist, even though they are a bit out of my reach to be able to own.
My first rifle was a pre-64 model 70 in 30/06. I sold it back in 1994 to help fund college, wish I still had that one. All of my hunting rifles have been pre-64 Winchester model 70's. None of them has ever let me down. Thanks again for sharing.

Interesting! Having been a budding shooter/hunter in the 60's, the(pre-64) Model 70 was considered THE rifle to own. It took me a few years to afford one, a 30-06,...but it was well worth the wait. Still have it!

Read it initially 1,750,000 as the serial #, and thought that's just not possible. 2 coffee's, and some new comments cleared things a bit.

I've got a pre-war, unidentifiable as such, McMillan stock, and .338 RUM. Need to circle back for a standard.
