I'm reloading for a 45 Raptor. The loads that I got with the rifle are loaded with 43 grains of Lil Gun. Thos rifle has got quite a snappy recoil to it, even with a heavy barrel, and mediocre muzzlebreak. I am looking to switch powder to something g that is less temp.sensitive and might reduce recoil a bit. My theory (could be way off) is that the Lil Gun is a pretty fast burning powder and is producing the quick snappy recoil, as compared to something that burns a little slower. Can anyone confirm my theory, that changing powder might make the snappy punch into a longer push with different powder? If so, does anyone have a suggestion on a temp insensitive powder that burns slower and can push a 250-300 grain bullet at 2600+ out of a 26" tube?
