Please close your threads!!!

Are you the new moderator, now, 2 months after joining the forum?

The reason I'm asking is because 7 of your impressive 133 posts have been rants about closing threads on people's sold classified ads, starting on 6/28. One was mine.

I followed the sticky about updating my subject, **SOLD** and posted an update that the item was sold. I looked and did not find a sticky about closing threads, nor any requirement to close threads after selling.

If the thread subject clearly states sold, and the last post says sold, what else do you want? By the way its nice once in awhile for the buyer to post how he received the item in great condition and give a recommendation for the seller...

Once you're done posting on all the thousands of items that have sold on this site, and polluted all the top pages with sold items with your ranting bump, then, if you have time to do something constructive, you could post a thread showing users how to close a thread inside the technical section.

If you found some requirement about closing threads, please post the link. Otherwise everyone will continue to assume your just another wise guy bumping sold threads just to tell us we broke a rule that doesn't exist.

For reference, here is the sticky I followed on all my recent sales:

http://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/f41/new-way-edit-thread-title-show-sold-89234/

And here is the only thread about closing a thread, located in the technical section.

http://www.longrangehunting.com/forums/f47/how-close-thread-68777/

And, just to make it easy on you, here are all the threads I've ever started, so you can go through and bump every last one that I didn't close in the past four years. I'm sure you'll sleep better at night knowing you did your duty to the forum.

i can answer your 300 word question with just 3 words,"it's common courtesy"

Re: Please stop saying close your threads!!!

Cmon guys when you sell something in the classifieds you are responsible for closing your own thread.

The fact that you posted this thread without closing it, implies that the matter is still up for discussion.

Therefore, I provided data and references to refute your mistaken claim that sellers need to close their threads.

I used some emotion, to get your attention and drive home the point.

This information remains available for future reference.

I suppose you can close this thread now to prevent any further discussion. But, its not required...

dude for you to even have a rebutle on this subject is just plain rediculous. this subject was brought up for people selling items in the classified section and not closing their threads after the item was sold. it has absolutely nothing to do with discussion threads like this one.there is no need for any more comments on your part.

Relax Francis.

There is more to life than being bent over perceived "rudeness" over not closing a thread in a timely manner. I may NEVER close a classified thread again due to you hurting my feelings. . . . . . . . . . . . :D

Vegas Steve PM

Here is Vegas Steve's PM to me with my response. Someone get him some de-caff.

hey dicknose if you want to keep reading threads on sold items in the classifieds then knock yourself out.keep your stupid *** comments off my thread.

What are you, 13? "Your" thread? It's a public forum that you posted on Senor. Also, I was making light of the situation, dont be so serious.

:D:rolleyes::)

This is nuts I cant even edit my post on this site and you are bitching about guys closing there threads. Its just not an option here and so what if you send a pm and they sold it are you going to kick and scream on your floor about your wasted time or something. Look at the thread dates and make an educated decsion

Warning! This thread is more than 13 years ago old.
It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
