Well I shot this doe at 180 yards with my 50cal CVA buckhorn. Bullet used was a 240g Hornady XPT in front of 150g of Tripple 7. I hit a bit high, which is no ones fault but my own. The devistation this bullet causes is simply unreal! At the shot she fell and soon expired. The bullet took a 2" chunk out of the spine. I did not recover the bullet it was a through and through but I do have one from another doe I will try and post it later.

Back straps where partly destroyed about 1/4 of them.

That damage reminds me of the days when I took muleys with the 270 130 sierre BT under 250 yards @ 3100 fps mv. Ruined most of the front half even with out hitting the spin.

That's quite a pair of creaters.

Good post. It begs the question of how those bullets would work for larger game.

This is the 3rd amimal I have taken with the bullets all have been dead right there! I think they would do a great job on larger game. Once I find what I did with the one I recovered I will post it. It was a perfect mushroom.

Myself and 2 other guys I hunt with are all shooting this bullet and on paper they are more impressive than you might assume. We are getting one hole groups at 100 yards and keeping them with in 2" at 200. Granted there has been no wind.

XTP stands for extreme terminal performance. That is what you get. I shoot the 45 cal 250 XTP with 150 grs Pyrodex in my Knight Mag rifle with same performance. Same bullet out of my 45 Colt Ruger Black Hawk pushed 1200 fps or so is also awesome.
