Some time ago I was looking to do a pillar job on an old Savage that I bought new in 1968 ( I was 18 - do the math) and was looking around for the right "pillars" and was coming up short. I just happened to order from Grainger small high intensity magnets for a crossbow to mount a switch for a lighted nock when I tried a quick search for something that might work. They carry "spacers" in virtually any material, length, ID and OD that you can think of to use. Steel, brass and aluminum in all sorts of dimensions. I found aluminum to fit the Savage but also for an Encore forearm that eliminated the need for O-rings etc. So maybe you can find a spacer that will work as a Pillar for whatever you are working on and BTW cheaply! Just a pass along as a another Rube Possibility.
