Sorry no picture. 1964, had received my NRA hunter safety certificate 2 years before and had been hunting with my father but not shooting other than small game. The hunt was in the high Sierras and started hiking out of camp before dawn. Around 10am, sat down on the side of a 30 degree slope to eat my apple. Looked up and across the canyon a deer stood in the timber. About 250 yards and a downhill shot. Dropped the apple and set up for a string position shot due to the steep hill. Rifle held 1 in the chamber and 2 in the magazine. First shot. I was sure I missed because the deer just stood there. 1 more and he started to walk slowly. Long story short, after 4 shots, one of which came out of my cartridge holder, he dropped. When dressing the deer after the hike down and back up, three of the 4 were right behind the shoulder. Learned a lot about how tough mule deer can be from that experience. A lot or years later and many hunts, just goes to show you have to be ready for the unexpected. Will never forget that hunt as long as I live. Humbling.
