pet loads for 7mm and/or 300 rum

Hey all, I'm looking to see if any of you have/are willing to share a really good load for 300 rum in a sendero.

I am also trying to build a lightweight rem 700 in 7mm. I dont expect to get as good a groups due to it not being a bull barrel, but I am hopefull to get moa to maybe...600???

Anyway any info would be greatly appreciated

I can't help with the 300RUM, but I've had great results with my 7mm Rem mags over the last 30yrs. My Rem700 only has a 24" thin barrel (a takeoff from an ADL). Over the years, I've tried just about every powder/bullet/primer combo you can imagine. I used H4831 with the Hornady 154gr spire point flat base at aroud 3100fps in 26" barrel for a lot of years, a long time before boattails were common and cheap for hunting bullets.

Now, I use RL-22 and 160gr Nosler Accubonds driven at 3015fps. Incredibly accurate! Sub 1/2 moa at distance.

One important thing that I've noticed over the years, is that I've had better accuracy with standard large rifle primers (for the 7mm) than the mag primers. I seat the 160AB at about .020" jump or slightly less and use rem 9 1/2 primers.

My 7mm weighs exactly 8 lbs ready to hunt (bipod,scope,sling,shells).

For a factory Remington stick try 91.0-92.0 of RETUMBO and the 200 ACCUBOND.

Or 98-100 and the 180 AB.

I don't post loads. My load was above the book listing, but with a much longer than standard cartridge length. Just work up using a good chrono. Around 3000fps is about right.

I use the non-mag primers so it takes a bit more powder to get the same velocity. My rifles also shot the 162gr A-Max very well. Here is a load for that bullet over on reloaders nest

thanks for the info AJ. Would I be correct in assuming your over 66 gr w/the rl22 then. I plan on starting at the 63 mark and heading up from there, I'm using the 91/2m currently so that should transfer right in.

I use the standard 9 1/2 primer, not the magnum 9 1/2m primers.

My Norma brass holds 86.3gr or water, you can compare that to your brass internal capacity. As opposed to some other brass I had (can't remember Rem or Win) that only held 82gr's. This is why it's so important to work up loads with your own components. I am sure my current load in the smaller brass would be horribly over pressure.

It is likely that you will be around the 3000fps mark somewhere in your 63-66gr testing with the magnum primers. If you end up weighing how much water can be held in your brass, let me know, as I'd be interested.

iv got a 300 rum in a sendero with a 26" tube,i use 83grn adi 2217 (which i have been told is our equall to h1000) CCI 250 magnum primers with the 208 A - max seated 10thou from the lands.shoots 1" @ 300yds,not the best load out there im sure but it works for me
