Wow. I thought NY sales tax was still 4%. What gives ? Everybody seems to have free shipping on this small but fairly expensive item. Sales tax is fairly normal these days even on online orders.

NY sales tax is 8.65% but varies slightly depending on where you live. The sales tax has a component that is county or city based. This is why the rate fluctuates.
