Any one hunt Oregon #275 or unit 75 interstate?

I drew a tag, and not sure it's worth the trip.
Heard good and bad things about it.

Then turn the tag back in and let someone else go hunting.....
Not always about the 'kills'....sometimes you get to meet some nice people in the area.....
I met a guy down that way on while i was on an archery antelope hunt....
He wanted out of out his store for the afternoon..he took me up to some neat little canyons...saw nice billies...put a stock on but they eyeballs me..gameover...he even gave me a name of a rancher that would allow me to chase goats on his place......
I bought some things on here from a guy that he hunts with regulary.....
Ol' Brad is a good guy.....

I'd rather spend monies in smaller towns that can use the funds..than crapola cities of the Willamette valley.....

If you are just looking to kill something, Oregon is the wrong state. Hunting any unit here is a job. Interstate has elk, but only hunters kill em...

I would suggest a person use that tag. Oregon draw tags are getting harder and harder to get regardless of the specific animal. I agree with mntnflyr that hunting in Oregon is work no matter where you go. I like 26Reload's attitude about not being about the kill and meeting people. And it's also about seeing new country. Oregon has a lot of gorgeous country to see "outback".

My dad knows one of the biologist who used to work in lakeview a few years back. He has moved to the coast since, but he used to hunt that interstate unit for archery elk and deer every year. He would pull an elk out of there every year he kept in contact with my dad. Of course he managed that unit so he knew where they were I am sure, but I bet you could find them if you called into the lakeview odfw office and hound them a bit. Not really known for elk but they are there, as are some big big bucks, I have a childhood friend who killed a 200 plus non typical out of there his first year hunting.
