You might want to work up a load for the 142 gr MK or 155 gr MK and let us know how it works out for you. Those seem to be the
bullets performing well for the application you want.

This is CIA stuff so don't tell anyone else.

Try H4831 SC and also H4350. Works great in the 6.5/284 with the 141 and 142 gr bullets.

It's a good thing you mentioned the stock was going to be Camo.
Since you said it was your new girlfriend, I would have asked if the stock was "titie Pink" like Boyds new one is? I believe he named it "bIG bABY". When he matches his 300RUM against the Tomahawk, he will have to rename it "Crying Baby" don't you think?. hehehehehehe

The SC on the H4831 is for "Short Cut" type powder. It seems to be more uniform.

Do you suppose I should load the Tomahawk "down" 10 or 15 grains of powder to Big babies" level? Maybe she won't feel sooooooooo bad after the dust clears? I just want to treat my guests well.

I think I have cabin fever or something.

Boyd knows it's all in fun. That extra 2" of barrel he has may make this test a bit more even IF, and I'll stop there.

Everything equal, from what I have seen, the Tomahawk is a worth while improvement.
If I chamber the Tomahawk on the 44" barrel I have, look for about 3350 to 3400 FPS from the 240 gr bullet instead of the 3200 I'm getting now in the 34."
