Alright gents...
I sold a few optics lately in an attempt to thin and standardize my fleet per say.
In the last few years, with the release of higher mag optics that also retain low end performance...I've been reducing my inventory of glass in the 20-28 range, in search of the 35+ range.
Currently, the optics I have in hand are as follows. (I'm not opposed to buying another of any of the ones I already have)

5-42x March HighMaster FML-TR1 (wish there were more refined reticles)
7-35x Nightforce ATACR MILXT (turrets could use more positive, audible clicks)
7-35x Leupold Mk5 H59 (not a fan of the windage dial indicator possition)
6-36x Vortex Razor Gen3 EBR-7D (hate vortex rose gold anodized color, not in love with the re-zero system)
6-36x Bushnell XRS3 EQL (best value IMO) (turret clicks could be better)

I feel like this is a pretty solid lineup, but I'm sure there are a few I'm missing.
What other optics in this performance range do you know of, or that I'm forgetting.

Off the top of my head...

8-40x ZCO (never loved any of their reticles. Circles instead of dots don't excite me)
6-36x S&B PMII (no experience ever even touching an S&B optic)
5-45x S&B PMII (no experience ever even touching an S&B optic)

What say you?
What do you have?
What do you love about it?
What would you change?
If you could build your own, what would you make?

If I could build one...

1) 34mm or 35mm main tube is enough for me w/56mm Objective.

2) USA Construction & ruggedness of the XTR PRO.

3) USO EREK Elevation design with XTR PRO toolless zero, USO built in bubble level.

4) Steiner T6Xi turret lock.

5) Tangent Theta Glass with XTR III (& PRO) eye box & FOV

6) Built in & foldable throw lever (magnification).

7) Don't care about illumination, but eh, why not red & green?

This is actually kind of fun!! 🤣

I do not have a 35-40x scope. But I have several ZCOs and S&B PMIIs.

ZCO is top of the food chain for build quality. Turrets, tracking, RTZ, glass, eye box/relief, etc. I own two ZCO 420,and have shot several of the ZCO 527. MPCT 1, MPCT 2 and MOA do not have the circles at the MIL. They have x subtensions. MPCT 3 and MPCT 3X have the circles.

I would follow up with S&B PMII being next in line. I currently have 3 S&Bs. But all mine are on hunting rifles, so I personally do not have the need for big magnification. I have a 3-20×50 MTC/LT, 3-20×50US, 5-20×50US. I had a 5-25×56 DT for a long time too, but sold it for a ZCO 420.

Just found out TT is releasing a 7-35 at SHOT and that's absolutely the one I'll be saving for.
