Opening barrel channel on carbon stock

I have a mcmillan carbon fiber stock that has a light palma barrel channel, I want to open it up to fit a benchmark sendero CF barrel.

I've seen people recommend using the dowel or deep socket wrapped in 60 grit method, but predominantly with stocks that aren't carbon.

Any tips or advice? Also if someone has a mill and capability to do this for me let me know.

I would contact the manufacturer to determine if it is possible to do what you want without sacrificing the integrity of the stock.

Yeah they quoted me at $250, and at that point I'd just order a new stock.
Their price is so high because they want to strip, then repaint the stock.

I'd be concerned about working through the carbon shell and hitting the core material.
