Older Weatherby

There is a local gun shop near me, it has an older Mark V and the barrel is only stamped 300 magnum. I like the gun and I don't know if that 300 wby mag or 300 win mag.

I know that the pre 64 Model 70's stamped
.300 Magnum were .300 H&H Magnum as it was the only .300 Magnum produced at the time.....

If it won't chamber a .300 Weatherby or .300 H&H it COULD be a .300 Win or .300 Norma
My GUESS is it's .300 H&H or .300 Wby

My 1959 Mark V, right under the Weatherby name it says 300 Magnum. It is a 300 WBY Magnum

Weatherby did not chamber in the 300 win in the markv until made here in usa I believe.

I don't believe the 300 win was developed or at least produced until 1963
