Unofficial so far but trying out my first Hammer bullets. 35 grain .224 Hammer Hunters to try in Custom Oregunsmithing 22-250! Winchester CRF short stainless action, 22" fluted benchmark #2 I believe barrel. Pendleton Classic hunter stock. Haven't crono'd yet but started out a quiky for pressure using Varget. Worked from 38 grains up to 41 where I got just slight primer edge flattening, not out to the outside edge of primer. Bolt smooth as glass still and no case head bolt marks but I'll stop there as it's a full case of varget without taping it on bench. Looks to be 4 rounds 1 grain increments in one steel plate splatter mark at 200 yards!! Good start I think!!!!! Can't wait for deer season (oops I know it's not a deer caliber)!!!!!!

Got a couple reads this time shoots good too. Squeak squeak squeak to mr coyote!!! I attribute the speed deviation to such a light bullet or powder?? Never cared for Varget but haven't spent time with it to judge it either! I prolly shouldn't have used a VLD chamfer in case mouth not much neck tension.

For what it's worth. I'm shooting a 20-250 with 37 grains of N550 with a 31 grain Hammer bullet. I'm getting 4500 fps. They hold up good on coyotes. Go till you start getting a slight bolt lift, about that time you'll see ejector marks. Watch those primers for gas leaking out around them too. I'm using a Pro Chrono. Lab Radar ain't cutting here at this speed. Lapua brass too. Cheers!
