I have some 7-65R loads that use Norma tip strike bullets.

does anybody know if these bullets are more like a bonded bullet or more like a ballistic tip?

I can't find much information on the bullets.

thanks

Between 3 experienced hunters we have lost 4 does and a couple of pigs with the bullet in 7-65R in 2 weeks. Not much of a blood trail on any of them.

We are trying to figure out what the problem is and I did not know much about the bullet. It is a factory Norma load. 160 grain @ 2750 at muzzle. I verified the velocity with my magneto speed.

every deer I have ever shot with a ballistic tip left me a blood trail.

The Tipstrike have a lock ring down towards the base of the jacket internally that is designed to prevent the lead core separating from the jacket. Similar but more pronounced than what the Hornady ELD X have.
From what I have read they tend to retain around 70% of their original weight.
