Sorry about the delay in responding, I didnt get an email from the site. Nikon scopes are very clear. I have sold 3 or 4 and no complaints at all. Nikon makes High end cameras as well so they know what they are doing.

How does it compare to the Zeiss conquest friend? Clarity of image?

I have 2 Conquest's. 3.5-10 and 6.5-20. I like the Nikon better.
