I woke up Sunday morning to wind and snow flurries but decided to black powder hunt any way. I was stillhunting up a logging road on the farm that I hunt, an area that the deer use all the time, when I spotted this nice buck walking through the woods. I had seen him once about 3 weeks earlier before rifle season but not since. I shot him offhand at about 75 yds. Hit him a little high (whew!) but got him clean. He has more mass than any other deer I have shot in this part of the state and is one of my best deer.

Great deer. I love it when they have bark in there antlers from rubbing. I have one on the wall over my desk that still has bark on the antlers.
