Nib Leica Magnus value

I have a nib Leica Magnus 1.8-12x50 i L-4A BDC. MPN 53164. I have a hard time putting a scope worth that much money on a gun knowing I am just going to bung it up over time.

I probably paid more than I can sell it for but what do you guys think it's worth if I choose to sell it?

Just did a little research;

High End = $1600
Low End = $1400

This optic is discontinued so the only place I could find current pricing for it was on Ebay. Found original MSRP/Online price of $2600 & a discounted price of $2300 on the link below from Sport Optics.
