Newbie in DFW

I have a couple that I am going to work on my abilities with, I know they are capable so it's my understanding and comfort that I'm trying to build.

Rem. 700 Sendero (Heavy Barrel) in 308 with a Nikon 6-24x50 on it.
Diamondback AR10 with a Nikon 4-16x50 on it.

I am both a 308 and Nikon supporter! But I am itching to spend money on a NightForce for some reason.
I have shot steel and 2 liter bottles out to 500 but it is completely with guessing holdover and not a single thought about wind until the first few shots go down range and I put some more guesswork in! Nothing scientific at all
