First off, after doing g some research I think I got a rare, maybe old stock Dead Air Nomad. Mine came with a Keymo, Direct thread 5/8x24, e-brake and 5/8x24 muzzle brake all for $800 new in the plastic case with precut foam. Seemed like a deal, but who knows.
So here's the question. I need a 1/2x28 direct thread for a couple hunting rigs. Of course all the Dead Air mounts are sold out everywhere, for what seems like forever. The little research I've done says I should be able to use a Silencer Omega or EA VOX direct thread mount.
Has anyone ever used another brands direct thread on their suppressor? Any negative side effects? Any issues with first baffle longevity if the direct thread is slightly shorter than Dead Air (there are no wrench flats on the Omega maybe 1/4in difference). I'm a newb to suppressors so feel free to flame on if I'm asking dumb questions here.
