New World Record - 1.403\" at 1K

Tom Sarver in Ohio recently set a new IBS World record in light gun for a 1.403" group at 1000.

What is really amazing also is the perfect 50 score with 5 X's.

already been done. About 5 years ago at the IBS Nationals in Ohio, a guy shooting a factory Rem tactical in 308 shot at least one if not two sub 4" five shot groups at the nationals.

Wow there's hope for me yet. Am .308 shopping now, tho I know my 7mag otto do the job at 1k.

If you are 308 shopping for a factory gun then you need to look at the Savage FT/R. Northlander at www.savageshooters.com has them for $925

IMO right now that is the absolute best of the shelf LR 308 out there. You can spend 2-3x more and not beat it for accuracy.

save the money and buy a very good scope.

Groups!

Shoot enough groups....and the LAW OF AVERAGE will dictate that you shoot a great one every now and then! Doing it...ON DEMAND...is the tuff part!

When you have LOTS OF FOLKS shooting groups....you'll eventually have some 'burners' come up!!

Ask these guys to turn around and repeat their performance.....is when the REAL RUB comes in!!lightbulb

You are correct, that guy and that gun have shot a lot of 2" groups so it was not a fluke!

Bounty and Trueblue I am with you. A friend was visiting about his last match in Calf. a couple of weeks ago. Came in second and set two more pending world records. I asked how many that is now. He thought is was around eight. I guess Richard Schatz is just a little more lucky than most. If you know Richard I am sure you will agree you won't find a more humble and deserving guy.
