Since finishing up a Savage action customized rifle in 6.5x284 for my dad it has made the rounds this hunting season.. I built it for him so I could use it lol:D. I did the load development and have shot it the most but have yet to take a critter of any kind with it.. maybe the luck will follow the gun.. All one shot kills.gun)
My uncle used it to take his first pronghorn at 386 yd.
My cousin used it to take his mule deer at 613 yd.
And my dad took his whitetail and a coyote at 280 and 260 yd.

Love the 6.5-284Norma. Definately a killing machine. Give us some specs on the rifle; what barrel did you use and where did you get that stock? I like that. JohnnyK.

Thanks... It is a great round for pretty much everything in the lower 48...
It's a Shilen 26" varmint contour 1-8 and a basic bell and Carlson medalist stock I just opened up the barrel chanel. 55gr. Of H1000 behind a 140 gr. Vld at 2950ish. $15 stock pack from amazon helped with cheek weld. Shoots pretty nice max I have gone to is 800 yards haven't built targets for farther yet.

Any close up pics of the rifle ?

How could I forget the gun pictures. I have others but not on my phone..

Nice shooting all around and nice build. I should have my Savage build ready in a few months after I pick them up over Christmas. Block Leave can't get here soon enough.
