I just finished a project that I jumped into without thinking things through. Just decided I don't want a 6.5-284 BBL. Going to sell the whole BBL setup.
BBL: Kreiger 4 groove HV taper 30", 1-8 twist threaded for BAT "M" (1.125 x 16) Muzzle threaded for break (not included)...not sure of thread pitch. Will add later.
Chamber: 6.5-284. .140 FB .297 neck Chamberd by Greg Wahlstrom, Straitline Customs.
Dies: Redding "S" Neck, + body. Comp seater die + 3 Nitride bushings (.292, .293, .294)
100 Lapua Brass
100 Berger 140 Hybrids.
I fired 3 of the brass to do the break in (shoot, clean, shoot....etc.), so , technicly the bbl is not new. I was not happy with how the new brass headspaced. After posting a thread about the head space issue over at Accurate Shooter (My other home) everyone who responded said to just shoot them...it was normal. I, on the other hand, am too anal, so I gave the remaining 97 brass the "Dasher" treatment....necked them up to .277 using a Sinclair expander mandrel, bumped them most of the way back down with the body die, and finished them off to a solid chrush fit with the .294 bushing.
I have some test rounds already loaded and ready to shoot...H4831SC, Fed 210M, 140 Hybrids at about +015 into the lands. I loaded 6 @ 48 , and 3 each at 48.5, 49, 49.5, 50, 50.5, and 51.
I have a little over $1050.00 into this project. Will sell for $800.00 delivered and insured.
Thanks,
Tod
