New hunting suppressor input needed.

You won't regret either. If you want good and short the sycthe is the way to go IMO.

Only thing I'm tracking shorter is ultra5 and banish BC. Both I haven't used but read plenty of conflicting reports on here and other forums about actual sound performance. Most say "they are hearing safe". And if that is true and all you are looking for, perfect. They are shorter.

If you want a can that suppresses "well" I'll call that ~5/10 db better or said another way you are able to take 3-5 shots without ringing ears you may want a slightly longer/more volume can (I.e. scythe).

(Edit: just confirmed backcountry is only shorter by 1/4" and .5oz lighter in similar configs…non braked).

Second edit: I think I recall you shooting semi enclosed in a stand of some sort. Suppressors inclosed are much louder than not. For hearing safe in a stand you may want to hedge your bets and get a bit more supressor. I still think the scythe or something longer would be ok for that.
The gun is sticking outside of the stand. Not shooting it from inside.

I appreciated the advice of others here who suggested to checkout what pewscience had to say.

For those with much more experience than my zero ... any issues with the rankings below on suppression performance?

I just added a Scythe to my collection. I picked that based on all the positive reviews. I am trying to reduce weight and length. It's in jail right now. I considered a few others but that one checked all the boxes for me.

Right now I'm really leaning towards the scythe.

Not sure I am following this review. I think if you are choosing sub sonic ammo it might have merit but I am not familiar with the back ground on this review or the scores.

Currently using a Scythe and it's nice to handle and surprisingly quiet.
I also have Omega 30 and Gemtech Tracker.
I like all of them and the extra 2" of the Tracker is my only minor complaint.
All are direct thread.

Love my scythe, but if you check out rokslide there has been ~5 that have separated at the weld in recent weeks. All appear to be on shorter barreled magnums, but something to at least be aware of. They've been super responsive in fixing also fwiw.

Hope my Scythe hangs on!
I only have a few hundred rounds thru it...so we will see. Not many magnum rounds thru it though.
My Omega is 9 years old and has lots and lots of rounds thru and still rocking along!
But... I'm willing to bet, as you mentioned, they will stand behind their product.

I know someone who had one come apart, still bought one. They're a good company.
