The latest issue (Feb 2016) of Shooting Times features the new Honrady Extremely Low Drag Expanding (ELD-X) bullets. The article says that they are a "game changer". There may be something to that claim. Hornady used Doppler radar to show that the Delrin tips on many bullets get soft and deform past 300 yards from heating which degrages BC and long range accuracy. They also showed that Berger and similar bullets that don't have Delrin tips don't suffer this degradation of BC. The new Hornady bullets have a high temp tip that also solves this problem thus maintaining very high BCs throughout flight. I'm buying what they are selling so it looks like I'll be getting some of the new Hornady bullets. They are taking back orders on Midway USA. Time to get in line hey?
