Oh my this thing is pristine in the bore scope! I can't find any tooling marks in her! Maybe because it reflects too much light!
I'll see where it falls when I headspace. Hopefully straight up or under the stock.I've noticed a lot of prefits now, are putting the engravings on the top part of the barrel in line with the circumference of the barrel. They're getting away from putting it along the side next to the stock.
This one is a heavy sporter. Its about daggum perfect for what I intend with this build. I think I'll try the light varmint next.I have literally nothing but good to say about the criterion barrels I've had. They just hammer
I like the looks of the CF and the test videos I see show they are stiff, but I don't see them being much lighter than the steels. For double the price. Maybe I am out of the loop.My 24 inch "Heavy Sporter", Criterion Barrel on a Rem 700 SA, in 6 XC with, a .707 Dia Muzzle,.. weigh's 9 .5 Pounds and shoot's 5 shots, in the 2's and 3's with, 107 Sierra MK's at, Light Jam with, 40.7 grains of StaBall 65.
About, the Best Barrel that, I've ever had !
That makes me smile! I got 88gr Hammers, and 105 Berger VLDs enroute. You should LOVE, the 1-7.5 Twist, in .243 AI as it will, shoot the 103 ELD-X's, 108 ELD-M's, 107 SMK's, 108 Elite Hunter Bergers and most likely, the 110 SMK's,. TINY
So what are people getting more from Bartlein, Brux, etc?Have had my Criterion 6 creed for a year. It is a tack driver. Love it.
Heavy sporter is my favorite profile for a hunting rifle. This one is a heavy sporter. Its about daggum perfect for what I intend with this build. I think I'll try the light varmint next.
