Well, that should be a lot off fun. There is a lot of enjoyment to be had in doing the work yourself, i'm in the process of finishing off my first laminate stock. I had to finish the inletting for the action & trigger guard, glass & pillar bed (that was an experience
), ensure the barrel was floated, do the final sanding of the outside, countersink the front action screw for an escutcheon, apply the finish & grind the recoil pad to fit....
No wonder stocks are so expensive... there's a LOT of work involved lol but it was fun.
You might consider doing a build thread to show your progress with the 284
The 195 is going to be a great bullet, but the 180's are probably going to be the best bet for the 284.
