Need help

Need some help deciding on the best glass in a 56mm scope for hunting around 1000.00 bucks. I do not shoot long range but would like to learn. Just the best glass for low light hunting. There is not a good store I can go look at a bunch of scopes so all the help would be great. Thanks in advance.
