Need help with reloading 6.5prc Sako S20 Berger 140 VLD

Hi , bit new to this, but haven't run into this issue yet. I loaded some vld 140 6.5mm bullets into a peterson 6.5prc case to an OAL of 2.955. the case won't load all the way now so I can't close the bolt. This is for a Sako S20. Its about .5 inches off. maybe a little more. I do have a modified case on the way but wanted to get some help prior.

This^^^^^^........or does your bolt close on a sized piece of brass?

Is this new brass? Have you tried to chamber the brass w/o a bullet seated ?
If it chambers fine w/o the bullet, do what Dmagna says and seat the bullets deeper.

Thanks birddog and it seated fine. so will just seat the bullet deeper like Dmagna suggested to find the right depth.

Have you checked headspace?

uh just figured it out. i set the die to low and crunched the neck basically deforming the brass. total noob.

good thing i invested in a bullet puller too

With new brass I will lightly lube inside of the neck and run the expander to straighten out the neck. Sometimes they get dinged and won't let you seat a bullet without crushing.
Yes I learned this the hard way.
