Any crafty ideas ?

7mm 24" 9 twist Lilja #3 contour threaded for a brake and off a 700 SA round count 164 chambered 7mm 08 cerakoted flat black

.30 cal 24" 11 twist Lila #3 contour threaded for a brake and off a 700 LA round count 500 chambered 300 WM cerakoted satin black

thinking barrel setback to 22" allows me to rechamber & thread to any action for a special application?

Of course I could trade them for something?

If you wish to rechamber 7-08 I would consider the 284 or the Improved version. The 308 I would just set back the chamber and re-crown the muzzle and load some 155 in it and see what happen. If you don't want a 308 consider the 30 X 284 nice round. Mine has a 1:12 twist and throws 185 downrange all day long. I have a 30 Cal. blank that I am considering on building a 30 RAR on. Should work out to 600 yards with some 155 and might upset a few people at the next Match.

Nice options I didn't want to mess up the thread by putting out my thoughts too soon but Both the 7 SAUM/7SS was on my mind didn't realize the 7 WSM wouldn't need a setback should have looked at the case OAL

I did not think 284 AI or the 30 x 284 > I like the upset at the comps nothing like making 6.5 guys cry. I currently run a 7mm 08 with 162 ELDM's for my comp gun and really enjoy that set up for hunting too.

30 RAR is that like a 300 Whisper or Blackout?

Mr. Sherman.....I just looked at who posted about the 7 SS / 7 MAX bahaha good man. I have been meaning to hit you up on your data for the SS but I found your download on it. Impressed by it all.

I was thinking of your inventions - make it a high alpine sheep worthy rig.

30 RAR falls very near a 300 Savage with 150 grain bullets. Remington came out with the R-25 in 2008 chambered for the cartridge. It never caught on for the AR folks, but you can't seem to find a used rifle anywhere on the web. The drawback in the case head, larger than the standard 308 but smaller than a magnum case. The round was developed from the 30 X 284, but cut down to 1.5 in in length and I have seen some bolt guns build on this round and it looks to have some very good results. I think Shooting Times neck down the case to 7 mm and worked some loads for it, but I have not heard anymore about it. There has been some talk of necking the case down to 6.5 mm and that has got my attention. Will finish up my 338 this week and will find out if it like the 225 I plan to use.

Ace thanks in my USASOC role I played a part in the 300 blackout and bringing the 338 to the teams but wasn't aware of the RAR case head size makes it very odd. BTW what's the acronym stand for?

Can't be Remington Assault Rifle ????

My understanding it is a hunting round developed for the AR Platform by Remington. (30 Remington AR) .492 case head diameter, the 450 Bushmaster also share the same case. There is very good write up in the 2019 Hodgdon Reloading Magazine, the author builds one using a 450 Bushmaster for his platform. Great information for anyone wanting to build a Bolt Rifle. I heard DPMS did at one time make upper's for the
AR -10 Rifles.
