Hello Fellow shooter, just got a new toy, Heavy barrel Tikka 300Win, Mag, and i need a long range target load, 500yards+ any help would be greatly apriciated, later, Traper. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
190 gr Berger VLDs
GM210M
Nosler Brass
74 gr RL 22
Both loads are pretty much standard, run-of-the-mill loads for the 190s. The primers and brass may be a little different, but the accuracy will be close to those two charges.
Some other data that I was given but have not tried is:
Try H-1000 and 180 grain bullets. I have shot this load in Winchester brass with the federal 215 primer with either the 180 TXS or the 180 AccuBond velocity is with 20 fps of each other and very accurate Check out hte 300 yard groups in bullets barrels and ballistics thread
My long range load to 1000 yds
76.2 gr H-1000 with 200 gr Accubonds, Fed 215 m, Norma brass, start lower and work up till you find what your gun likes.
