I say re-torque the action screws. I have a few rifle that call for a procedure like this:
Torque the front screw to 50 inch pounds, then put the back one in and torque to 30 inch pounds. THat's a real cheap and quick thing to try.

Has he taken it to a smith to get bore scoped? I may also contact Bartlien and see what they have to say

Yes it has been to a smith and been scoped and it checked out fine. we are going to do some shooting with it this week. If the results aren't any different than he will be contacting Bartlien...

We've done this a few times just to make sure nothing has worked loose.
