What's the difference in AR vs normal in terms of performance in a bolt action?
These primers are to military specs and have tighter QC. The biggest
difference is that they seat somewhat recessed from flush so as to prevent a slam fire in semi auto rifles. They will probably work just fine in a bolt action but you may be paying for specs and features you dont need. Maybe others who use them will chime in.

It is just a "Harder" case for the primer to prevent "Slam Fires" in a semi Auto. Will work the same in a bolt and just made to "Match" specks .
If you have a really light spring for your firing pin you might get misfires.

And every time you close the bolt on an AR platform it partially dents the primer due to firing pin protrusion.
