Thanks! In the photo are some rare and formerly issued and field used parts. Pieces of USMC sniping history right there.Nice collection, pretty awesome!
Do you mean the Unertl 10X? The USMC M40A1s and early M40A3s used the Unertls. The Leupold M3 10X scopes were used on the Army M24s. But yes, I also have a soft spot for the early Leupold (& Stevens) Ultra 10X M3As.You went a little beyond those fixed 10x leupold scopes I see.
The entire USMC M40 series, from the walnut stocked Vietnam era M40 to the most recent chassis using M40A6, used Remington 700 short actions and chambered in 7.62.Pretty cool! What cartridges are they? I don't know anything on the history of USMC sniper cartridges. Other than I'm guessing there's a 308win in there somewhere
CMP has been auctioning them off for several years now. They are still listing several each week, starting on Mondays. Market's a bit flooded with them, so closing prices have been a relative steal lately, unless there's a bidding war for a specific scope. Eventually their inventory will dry up, so head over to the CMP auction site and bid now if you want one.Where did you find unertls?!
I have a thing for the GWOT era USMC sniper rifles. Thought I'd share a family photo of some of my clone builds.
