I thought you guys might like to see pics of my Rem700 MLR in 338Lap Mag......from the very start in its standard trim, this rifle would not shoot (3inch+ groups on a good day). Finally I could not take it anymore and sent it off to get re-barrelled...and I couldn't be happier:)

It now wears the following: "30 Madco match grade S/S barrel, Wyatt floor plate and five shot mag, Bell & Carlson A5 stock, extended bolt handle, Nightforce 5.5-22x50 NSX, Cerakote action, mag, barrel, bolt has been treated with the Micro slick finish and to tame it down in a large muzzle break :D

Very outstanding rig!!

I was as much impressed with the background as with the rifle.

I figured the only thing needed was more paint. :)

The shed bark begged to be a camo pattern.

Would have done the metal but would have had to send a bill.:D

Hi royinidaho, I liked your camo job......you are right, that shed bark would make a great camo pattern. Maybe for my next onelightbulb

Hey Wraith,

Hows it shoot now? got some target pics?

Also interested in what twist the Madco is

Cheers

Danny

Hi Danny, I am still working up a load for it, but from what I have seen so far it is going to be a shooter (the third group I shot while I was running in the barrel made a very nice little ragged hole.....I plan on having it sorted this sunday and I will post a picture of the results.
As for the barrel...it has a 1/10 twist, I plan on using the 300gn MK mostly:D

Hi, thanks for the comment........Madco do a very nice barrel. Mine is the match grade hand lapped stainless steel unit. Yours should be an awesome rig when finished, I'll bet you cant wait to get it. You are right, the long range shooting discipline is very addictive.......still, have to spend the money on something I guess:) Robert Holier from WA did the gun smithing for me and he did a great job.

G'Day Fella's,

Wraith, Nice lookin rifle there mate!!!

I recently purchased a near new Rem 700 MLR (.338 Lap Mag) from a mate of mine.
I spent a bit of time over the weekend hopefully improving it?
For starters, I began lapping the locking lugs and have around 80% contact on both lugs. When I find the time, I will try to increase the lug contact area, I'll then epoxy bed it, lighten the trigger and machine off the factory M/brake. I'll then re-cut the crown and make and fit one of my own Brakes to the factory muzzle thread.

Lookin forward to burning some powder and some long range shooting At and hopefully Hitting a few critters!

Doh!
Homer
