muzzle brake for rem 700

need some help. Had a gunsmith tell me i cant put a muzzle brake on my 700. cdl in 270 wsm. Im looking for a brake with no ports on the bottom for prone shooting . Any help would be appreciated.

Why did he say he couldn't add it? What's your barrel profile?

You can get no-bottom-port brakes from Defensive Edge, Center Shot, and a number of others.

he said that the barrel should be ported and it would cost like 400 bucks. i was just looking at holland brakes and they have all kinds of brakes straight , tapered etc.I think this guy is full of it. i would have to get barrel threaded then brake should just screw on. I think this guys tryin to pull a fast one on me...
