Mueller Scopes

OK guys what is your opinion on Muller scopes. I've seen a couple good deals on an 8-32x 44mm with mil dot reticle.

Inlaw has a 8 or 9 year old 4-16x56. He can't see very well and can't afford to spend a good deal of money. This scope had never had any problems and never loses settings. Fairly decent scope for the price and he can see quite well with it. He shot a half MOA at 200 yds as well as a 170 muley with it. He calls it his "Hubble Telescope".

I have I think 4-16 and honestly don't like it at all. It holds zeroe ok but glass is awful, not very clear(blurry) the higher you magnification up worse it gets. Think it's apv model.

I have a 2-10x44 on my muzzleloader. Actually surprised its held up all the years it has on such a hard recoiling rifle. I don't just shoot one or two times with it. Ran thru a pound of pyrodex figuring out best bullets and charge weights for accuracy. Never an issue with it. Clear as can be, tracks fine and tough as nails. Best part... 150.00. It's well over 10 years old.

Have you looked into Primary Arms? Their about the same price but the glass is a little clearer.

Not sure the OPs price range but I always tell guys looking for a lower priced scope, check out the Sightron STAC scopes. Mid 300.00 range and quality on par with Leupold VXIII. Legitimately.

i bought a meuller 8.5-32 back when i was in college as it was the only thing i could really afford. i had read a review on mueller optics on sniper central and decided to try them out. i thought it was a decent scope for the money. it never lost it's zero and i thought the glass was pretty good. if you really want to try one, i'll give you a deal on it as it's just sitting in the parts bin right now. i have a set of burris xtr low rings on it when was perfect for sitting on top of my 700.

I had 1 and won't own another 1, the glass sucked in low light and the AO ring came loose from the front. I glued it back together and gave it away. I let a dealer talk me into trying it instead of buying a Leupold, Ya you get what you pay for that's for sure.

Sounds like most scope reviews pretty much. Reviews are typically split. I will say based on the Mueller scopes I've seen on rifles owned by people at my range, they work well for the $$$. Michigan based company so I bought one and haven't regretted it. Figured it would take a crap after a couple years on a muzzleloader but after over 10 years, still going strong. Personally can't ask for more than that. I wouldn't probably buy another as I've pretty much called Sightron my go to scope on all my guns today. I have zero regrets owning mine tho.
